The Standard Assessment Procedure or SAP is the Government’s approved method for calculating energy and CO2 emissions for new dwellings. It is used to demonstrate compliance with Building Regulations Approved Document L1A by comparing the designed Dwelling Emission Rate (DER) with a SAP calculated Target Emission Rate (TER).
All newly built dwellings are required to undergo SAP assessments. Ideally an assessment should be carried out at design stage to confirm that specifications such as insulations, heating systems and assumed air tightness are adequate.
Bridgewater Energy are accredited assessors using market leading software. We have carried out SAP assessments for hundreds of developments including many for Code for Sustainable Homes.
After receiving drawings we will quickly assess a project and advise the most economic route to pass. We will then produce all the compliance documentation required by building control and also Predicted Energy Assessments and Energy Performance Certificates for inclusion in Home Information Packs. |
