ENERGY PERFORMANCE CERTIFICATES FOR EXISTING BUILDINGS

All buildings that ‘use energy to condition their indoor climate’ are required to have an Energy Performance Certificates when they are sold, rented, or newly constructed. It is the responsibility of the building owner or landlord to provide the commercial EPC.

The services that are considered to condition the indoor climate are heating, mechanical ventilation, and air conditioning.

EPC’s for non-domestic buildings are produced using SBEM software. For existing buildings a survey is required to confirm building dimensions and services.

Fees for existing commercial buildings are based upon the size and complexity of the building together with the level of information that can be supplied to us such as drawings and records of building services.
